And so, our hero returns to where his fears lie. His fear being the creepy crawly Bug type.
"I guess this had to open sooner or later. I just wish we didn't live so close to a forest teeming with the things I hate. Oh well. At least I'm somewhat prepared." Jackie found himself arguing with himself. He was standing right there. In that small terminal that stood between Route 2 and Viridian Forest. One could say that this was a moment of coming for him. A rite to pass. He simply would need to conquer his fears and charge forth. He had Charmander by his side, this time. Plus, Nadia! "Let's do it." He stated. Starting forth and walking into the home for bugs and other Pokémon.

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Compound eyes Moves: Tackle, string shot, rage powder Crawling along the forest floor with her eyes to the ground, the small, baby scatterbug would not notice either the trainer or his team, or if she did, she would ignore them. This meant that she would simply crawl along at her tiny and slow pace, barely moving even with all those legs of hers.

It was humorous to see from a distance: The way Jackie walked through the talk grass and forward. Each step careful and his eyes darting around. Hoping he wasn't going to bump into anyone or thing. Or more importantly step on anything. So one could imagine the sudden shock of fear that ran through his spine when he swore he could hear the buzzing of Beedrill wings. The buzzing a total figment of his imagination. But, what wasn't a false being was the tiny Scatterbug. Somehow, just somehow, Jackie hasn't noticed the girl. Granted, she was only roughly one foot tall. But, this lack of notice resulted in Jack tripping over the Pokémon quite comedically.
Landing on his face, he laid there for a moment. Charmander safe, as he hopped off quickly. Though, Jackie recoverwd quickly. Hopping onto his knees and forearms, spinning around to see Scatterbug. Moving so...slowly. It was menacing. To Jackie, anyways. He hid his mouth behind his fists, but kept a careful eye on the caterpillar of a Pokémon. His eyes locked. Charmander posted right beside his trainer. And while he was ready to attack, he had to express his slight disappointment in Jack. "Oh Jackie.."

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Compound eyes Moves: Tackle, string shot, rage powder 100% / Stats Scatterbug used string shot! While she was a pretty calm pokemon, she did not like being tripped over! She nearly fell on her back, and the last time that happened the girl took hours to get back up, and she cried, and it was awful. How dare that trainer nearly make her go through that again! She didn't take much time to aim and blast the charmander with a string shot attack. She could do some damage, but maybe she'd get lucky and the two would just go. " Go away!"

Gender: Male / Level: 5 / Ability: Blaze Moves: Scratch, Growl, Dragon pulse "Gah!" Charmander exclaimed. He didn't like being blasted by String Shot. At all. But, he was a collected Pokémon. He wasn't going to attack unless instructed to do so. Granted, he could understand where Scatterbug was coming from. They were basically the strangers and outsiders here. "Charmander!" Jackie shouted.

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Compound eyes Moves: Tackle, string shot, rage powder 100% / Stats Scatterbug is running! Rather than continuing to battle, the scatterbug decided to leave. She didn't want to get into a battle with a fire pokemon! She hadn't realized this before, but being tripped on was fine, dealing with a fire pokemon was not on her to do list today. She reared back a little, and began to roll away, like a tiny bug wheel, rather than trying to use her little useless feet to move, since this method almost went at a normal pace. If she was lucky, the bug wouldn't be forced to fight the charmander, or be pelted by a pokeball.

"Uh..." Jackie hummed. Frankly, he was more than glad that the other Pokémon was rolling off. Besides, he didn't wanna fight or force the tiny thing into a fruitless battle. Oh well. Jack jumped onto his feet, rising up and dusting himself off. "I guess that settles that. C'mon." He huffed. Waving his hand, and taking off. That Scatterbug was a jerk anyways. String shotting his Charmander and then running. Weak!
Truth be told, Jack was just talking smack because it was trying to escape.
Off to the next encounter. Woo.

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Minus Moves: Nasty plot, play nice, nuzzle, entrainment, growl, thunder wave 100% / Stats Minun used nuzzle! Minun used entrainment! As the scatterbug rolled off, a minun took her chance to strike! She popped out from nearby foliage, where she'd been spying, and attempted a surprise attack on the charmander! It may not have seemed like much an attack, running up and trying to nuzzle with the opponent. Then though, she moved to eliminate the opponents ability, whatever it might be, with her cute little dance. In her head she was attacking and trying to move towards a win, but her actions weren't all that vicious.

[PAR] Gender: Male / Level: 5 / HP: 95% / Ability: Blaze Moves: Scratch, Growl, Dragon pulse "Huh?" Jack hummed. Something new had appeared and made quite an appearance. A Minun. He should have had expected one to be around. Viridian Forest was an apparent hot spot for finding Pikachu and it's regional variations. And, a Minun had found Jackie and Charmander. Well, alright! Unfortunately, Charmander was rendered paralyzed. Unable to move as quickly as he normally would be and instead was forced to likely go second in combat. Agh. Honestly, the thing was cute but posed a slight annoyance overall. "Alright, this is gonna be our first battle. Try not to hurt it too bad. Or at all, alright?" Jackie instructed. Looking to Charmander and formally beginning their battle with Minun. "Okay! Charmander, kick things off with a Dragon Pulse!"

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Minus Moves: Nasty plot, play nice, nuzzle, entrainment, growl, thunder wave 53% / Stats Minun used nuzzle! Minun used play nice! Quickly after minun did her little dance and nuzzle combination, she was met with a strong way of dragon type power. Woah, this pokemon was stronger than she thought... how would she ever manage to handle taking on a pokemon like that? With paralysis, that's how. The pokemon only had a 50/50 shot of making any given move work. Even so, minun only had nuzzle in terms of damaging moves, so this might take a while. This in mind she went in for another attack. A cute little nuzzle, and yet another little cutesy dance to get the opponent to back down a little in attack.

Jackie had to at least commend the small Minun. For what it was worth, it was trying its best to deal some petty damage. Truth be told, neither Jack or Charmander wanted to knock this little thing out. Rubbing his chin, Jackie figured the best course of action here may as well be that he do maybe one more hit and then go for a catch. He liked this Minun's style after all. "Scratch!" He called. Charmander recovering, or whatever you called getting hit by a Nuzzle, and doing his best to attack the Minun. Immediately after, Jackie tossed a Pokéball. Aiming to hit the ground rather than bonk the thing on its head.

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Minus Moves: Nasty plot, play nice, nuzzle, entrainment, growl, thunder wave 21% / Stats Minun used nuzzle! Minun used play nice! Again minun found herself being hit by an attack, this one much less strengthened than the last. Why woudln't the charmander use the same move again, and why would he not be using both his move opportunities? Maybe these two had simply never battled before, but the minun would do her best to take full advantage, again going in for the nuzzle and play nice combo, giving her a stats advantage, even if her attacks were terrible.

'Darn it. Maybe this Minun needs to be proven to that we're no pushovers. Heh. It's kinda cute.' Jackie thought to himself silently. Smiling a little, though you could only really describe it as a smirk if anything. His finger had been pointed forth once again, a command ready to be called out to Charmander. "Alright! Let's finish it off! Charmander, one more Scratch!" The boy shouted his command, and his partner would carry it out. After 'recovering' from Minun's next nuzzle. Honestly, it was kind of pitiful but damn it, the thing showed heart! And by gosh, Jackie could appreciate it! He wanted her on his team and he was gonna see to it that she was recruited onto his team. Alongside him, he'd make sure Minun would become much stronger! The moment Charmander's turn showed itself, he rushed forth and swiped at the small mouse-like Pokemon. His aim to do just enough damage!

Gender: Female / Level: 3 / Ability: Minus Moves: Nasty plot, play nice, nuzzle, entrainment, growl, thunder wave KO'ed The little minun did her best, trying to win out the charmander based on some kind of determination or stamina, but her attacks were just too pitiful to do enough. She couldn't even really see herself winning this battle, in truth. She fainted at the next attack, spinning in an adorable moment of failure, before thudding unconscious against the ground. This wasn't her first loss, and she was used to it. She'd just keep trying though, she wanted to be strong more than anything. Would the trainer take her along and help her out? Or, leave the girl and let her continue her quest alone? Charmander has earned 395 exp! He is still level 5 with 395/500 exp!

"Knocked out! Good job, now come back!" Jack shouted, asking his Charmander to get out of the battle scene. To which, the fire lizard obliged to. Running back and jumping back onto his trainer's shoulder. All that was left of this battle was to decide what he'd do with this Minun that they had just defeated. Would they leave her on her own to let her find her own path and struggle to achieve the strength she so desired? Or, would they bring her along for the ride and help her become top of the line like she also wanted. Honestly, it was a more than easy answer! Jackie walked forth, his arms swinging and an empty Pokeball swiped from his belt. The trainer crouching low and pressing it down against the KO'd Minun's head. Since she was essentially out cold, this should've been a more than easy capture! Pokeball used on Minun!
