So this was the place. The lab where some old geezer apparently give free stuff and Pokemon to any new kid that enters. Eurydice paused, her eyes darting at the place. She tested her nose. All she the scent that she could sniff were people and the antiseptic sterile scent you get in labs. She hated it already. It reminded her of the labs she had gone through back at the Team Rocket base. But if she wanted a clean slate, to prove that Giovanni was wrong, this was the place she should start. Eurydice flattened her ears warily. She was quite sure she didn't have an appointment yet, but the professor here shouldn't mind. After all, he gives everything to everyone. At least that's what she has heard. Most of the trainers here with their Pokemon must have got it from somewhere. Eurydice didn't like charity, but she supposed she had to accept it this one time.
Her tail lashing in agitation, Eurydice entered the lab. The temperature of the air around her was getting colder, indicating her negative turmoil of emotions inside her but the old geezer should probably think that it's just a cold draft that entered through the door. Eurydice had to steady herself, she didn't need to freeze anybody yet. She would apparently have the choice in picking a starter Pokemon. It's easy. She wanted an Eevee. A Pokemon that is just like her. The Pokemon that could understand her. Eurydice stayed quiet, scanning the lab, searching for anything threatening. She was being paranoid again, but she couldn't wait to get back outside the building into the safe zone. The forest routes. The noises, the amount of people in this tiny city was starting to get to her.
Better hurry up and end this. She thought to herself. "Hello?" She called, testing out her voice. It was scratchy and hoarse. She hadn't used it in a while because she didn't need to. Wild Pokemon understood her perfectly by her posture, body movements and eye contact. "Anybody here?" Try again. She accidentally said that in Pokemon language. She looked around. Now where was that professor?

In response to the girl's call out to the lab, Oak quickly made his way towards the door. He had a book under his arm that he's simply closed rather than putting away, and looked to the girl with a smile. Yet again this girl was dressed as a pokemon, glaceon this time. Perhaps it's some new fad he was yet again unaware of. Whatever the case, he would do his job. " Hello, are you here for a pokemon?" he asked, assuming since it's what most people came to him for.

Eurydice flattened her ears almost as a reflex when the Professor entered, a growl ready in her throat. She hoped that the Professor didn't see her ears move. It's logical for her to be posing as a cosplayer. She quickly surveyed him from her spot near the door. What is up with scientists and their large goofy smiles? But then again, this guy is a Professor. There's supposed to be a big difference between a scientist and a professor. A professor teaches other people while he studies to find out new things while a scientist just tries to find out new things in any means necessary. Okay, there's not much of a distinction.
Eurydice decided that she has to be careful with the Professor. Her Pokemon part of her was afraid and wanted to back off. You know, in case he tried to capture her and subject her to those despicable tests again. But her sensible human part told her that he has given out dozens of Pokemon, and that should be trusted. She had to try.
"Yes." She replied to the question that the Professor had asked her. "I'm hoping to get an Eevee." Eevee, the evolution Pokemon. The one with the unstable DNA that can evolve it in any change of environment. An Eevee that she could evolve into a Glaceon. Just like her. An Eevee that would one day slap Giovanni on the head and freeze all his ground type Pokemon. She had already picked out a few names from novel characters. Her gaze fell back towards the door. Its better if she gets out of here as quickly as possible. Her legs were already itching to break into a run, but the human part of her told her that she must control herself.
"And maybe some starter items." She added, looking down on her pockets. She had no money on her, unfortunately. The break out from Giovanni's lab had left her practically an orphan on the streets. She knew that the Professor gives out free stuff to people too. She overheard some trainer pass by her hiding spot and telling his friend about those brand new Pokeballs that he was given by the nice kind Professor. She supposed she might need those stuff in the hope that they would prove quite useful to her.

The professor would chuckle lightly at the girl's request, going towards the shelf of all his pokeballs. " Then an eevee is." he commented, a friendly tone in his voice as he retrieved the pokeball of one of the eevee's on the shelf. How he'd yet to give someone the wrong pokemon on accident was a bit of a mystery to even him. " Here is your eevee." he would eventually offer, holding out the pokeball to the girl. " And I'll go grab your starter items." Gender: Male / Level: 5 / Ability: Run Away Moves: Covet, Helping Hand, Growl, Tackle, Tail Whip, Fake Tears

The Pokeball felt heavy in her hand. So now Eurydice is in charge of this Eevee. She had to take care of his health, well-being and welfare. She waited until the Professor moved away to get the starter items to press the button in the red and white capsule. There was a flash of light, and the Eevee sat in the middle of the lab, looking up at her in a mix of curiosity and interest. Eurydice gave the Eevee--correction, her Eevee--a quick look. She noticed that his fur were a slightly darker brown around the ears and his paws. While the Eevee had the usual copper brown color, she noticed that her Eevee's fur was a shade of a slightly a burnt umber. The underside of the Eevee was leaning on to a more tan and creamy color just like his fur around his neck. She blinked. Of course, it wasn't until closer inspection did she notice these differences, but the Eevee nevertheless looks quite normal from a distance away. " Hi." She told the Eevee in Pokemon language. The Eevee blinked, clearly shocked that she could speak his language, but didn't want to show it. " Hi." He replied, twitching his ear. " I was thinking of naming you Luciel." She told him. She knew that Pokemon could hear bits of things in their Pokeball, so he must had heard her whole exchange with the Professor. So he must probably know that she's his new trainer. The Eevee shrugged. " I don't mind any name you give me as long as it's not Bob or Steward." Luciel offered, a glint in his eyes, while sitting down to look at the Professor's direction. So it seems that her Eevee has a sense of humor. Eurydice looked back towards the Professor, clearly waiting for the items so she could get out of here. (I hope it's okay if I put the tiny distinction in the Eevee's appearances.)

When the professor returned he held in his hands a small box of items rather than the books he'd had a moment ago. Still the faint smile lingered on his face, looking at the trainer and her new pokemon. Given her outfit, the professor could guess with a fair amount of certainty that Luciel may become a glaceon in his future. " Here are your items, and please do not hesitate to call me if you need anything else." there was nothing he had a soft spot for more than a trainer down on their luck. No matter how many times one called for his assistance, as long as he could detect sincerity, nothing would stop him helping them out. " Would you like a pokemon egg as well?" he figured he'd offer rather than forcing it upon her, some trainers didn't like that sort of responsibility just as they began the journey. Items: Pokeball x5 Potion x5 X-Transceiver Backpack/Bag if you do not have one Pokedex ( Slight distinction is perfectly acceptable, as long as you don't try and declare that he's shiny or has five legs or something, you'll be fine)

Eurydice nodded, giving her things a quick look. There were a few Pokeballs, some potions, a watch-item that Eurydice was quite sure was a X-Transceiver, and a Pokedex. She knew how the Pokedex and the X-Transceiver functioned already, mainly because she saw them in the lab at the Team Rocket base. They will prove to be quite useful later. She quickly took them and fitted them inside her fanny pack. So now aside from a few money notes that she found, her bag was quite full. She didn't need another bag. It was a tight fit, but if she organize it well, its a perfect fit. She took a look at the Professor. "Yes. Thank you." She said. The Professor had proved to be a kind person. Maybe she could trust him. Just maybe.
The Professor's next words caught her by surprise. An egg? Does she really need an egg on her journey? Don't eggs need a ton of dedication to care for? They need warmth, they need space. But if the egg hatches into a powerful Pokemon... she couldn't really pass that offer yet without being sure what she was going to get. "What kind of Pokemon will it hatch into?" She asked, just making sure. Maybe a dragon type Pokemon or a fire type Pokemon. But she wasn't sure on how she would end up caring for a... let's say Magikarp. Sure Gyaradous sounds fine, but Magikarp takes forever to look after. Eurydice remembered that it needs at least twenty levels. Plus he needs water. He would practically die upon hatching if she just let it flop onto bare ground. And Pokemon eggs hatch anytime. The don't care whether its inconvenient or not. They just hatch.

As the trainer asked her question, the professor realized it was definitely a good idea to ask rather than simply gifting her the egg. It was a good bit of responsibility, but never so much as people think. Pokemon eggs are actually quite resilient, but the professor was never one to tell people that. It never seemed to be a good idea to let someone know that they could be more rough with something. He would disappear into the next room again, " Well..." he would return in nearly less than a moment, having quickly scooped up one of the eggs he'd received by mistake. " This one seems to be a mareanie, they live mainly in Alola and are known for causing the poison condition." while this knowledge may make it seem like he's very knowledgeable on the subject, this was about all he knew. His focus was on the pokeomon of Kanto, not Alola. The professor shows you an egg. If you accept it, it will hatch after 4 threads into a mareanie with the following traits: Species: Mareanie / Gender: Male / Level: 1 / Ability: Merciless Moves: Poison Sting, Stockpile

Eurydice looked up as the Professor entered the room, her eyes narrowing at the sight of the egg. Right before the Professor told her, Eurydice knew that it was a Mareanie. The Professor was right, they are poison Pokemon and also water Pokemon. And they're not that hard to train. They apparently evolve into a Toxapex when it is in Level 38. That's quite a long time. But it's moves are okay, and the stats are decent. It's Special Defense and it's Defense is quite good. She quickly pulled out much more information regarding Mareanie that she knew. This Pokemon mostly learns poison attacks before it evolves, and has a few weaknesses. Phychic, electricity and ground. Now if Luciel turns into a glaceon, they would have coverage against ground types. And if she was not mistaken, the Mareanie can learn bite, so it has coverage against physchic types. So that's just one weakness, and that's electricity.
She blinked at the Professor, absorbing all the information quickly. Her verdict, a decent Pokemon. Should be alright in her team for the time being. Plus judging by how cold and still it is, it's going to be quite a while before it hatches. Maybe during her time in Pewter City, or even Cerulean city. "Okay, I'll take it." She said, taking the egg from the Professor. "I'll be on my way now, thank you Professor." She said formally, nodding towards Luciel. The egg was warm and pulsing in her chest as she left the lab, with Luciel in tow.
