Luca and Flare couldn't have been more in sync on their goals. These two wanted nothing more than to move forward and take on every single gym in this region. These two would take down the elite four together if it was the last thing they do. Not only that though, these two would someday show Luca's father that this flareon was more than capable of far more than he thought. He'd thrown her out of the lab, of the gym out on the streets thinking she was a dead woman. Instead, she lived on, she got up and got back to work getting stronger. Flare had yet to hear these origins but he too was well driven to win every battle they fought.
Today they'd come out to route 2 for several reasons, but the main one was training. Flare needed to come even farther along if the pair ever really wanted to get anywhere. Level 10 was astounding progress for their first session, but beating Brock was going to take so much more. Beating the rock type gym leader would most likely take a water pokemon, but Luca had no money quite yet for a fishing rod. The two would need to battle, so that they could battle and earn money. This thinking is what lead this duo to route 2, even knowing that they were a little strong for it, it was simply the next place to go.
That, and the water pokemon would be even easier to catch when they were done. No water pokemon was going to stand a chance against these two! The diligence in both Luca and Flare was evident to anyone with the ability to see. Flare was close, nearly chest pressed to the ground, creeping slow and eyes darting all around, ready for anything and above all ready to strike. Luca had a much more casual sense to her walk, her clothing just as bouncy and puffy as it always was, but her eyes showed a similar sense of knowing what's around her. Her pupils looked back and forth with a similar speed to her pokemon's, bright smile of anticipation on her face, waiting for something to dare challenge them.
